Unveiling the Journey of Seattle 90s Rap Icon: Kid Sensation | Inspiring Conversations with Xola

You guys… I’M STARSTRUCK.

I got to do a podcast with Seattle 90s rap icon, Kid Sensation!

He’s sold over 1.5 million records and is still entertaining the masses. His LIVE performances, concerts, books, movies, TedX Talks & all-around passionate personality take us on a hip-hop journey... Presently Past the Future (The name of his latest album).

Kid Sensation (Xola) ranges from spittin' dope rhymes on stages around the world, to speaking his authentic truth to audiences of thousands. His music triggers nostalgia for GenXers, taking them straight back to music we miss; 808-kick-drums, Alpine decks, Fosgate amps, 15 inch woofers bumpin' his debut single, “Back to Boom”. On stage he captivates audiences with a combination of storytelling and rhyme in his keynote presentations.

Go ahead - turn up the volume at the family BBQ, because all 9 albums are remastered and profanity-free.

Kid Sensation was discovered at age 15 by PNW legend, Sir-Mix-A-Lot. They dropped hits like "Posse on Broadway,” "Rippin’" & "Baby Got Back" scoring a Grammy Award along the way. Iconic lyrics - "Me and Kid Sensation at home away from home in the black Benz limo with the cellular phone..." or "Let's get LIVE with Kid Sensation!"

Kid Sensation dropped solo albums and remained tight with Sir-Mix-A-Lot. He also formed a long-time friendship with Seattle Mariners G.O.A.T, Ken Griffey, Jr. in his rookie year after they met while getting their car stereos installed. Griffey even appears on his Power of Rhyme Album on "The Way I Swing.” How did THAT happen? Well, it’s a funny story based off a bet they made with each other at a local Dennys. You'll have to read Kid's books; The Vapor & Kings, for the low-down.

Kid Sensations' latest hit, “Westsyde” is well on its way to #1. With its summertime feels and nostalgic throwback nods, it pays homage to many iconic Westcoast rappers of the 90s, most of whom he has performed with and/or toured with.

Westsyde is a passionate push to revive the hip hop we miss and love #BringBack90sRap

When he isn't performing, Kid can be found with his beautiful wife Liberte, or in his Mackie sponsored recording studio,

“I have a heart to spread hope, love and create meaningful dialogue through various art forms. I want to empower and inspire our youth.” - Xola
